you are so hot (2023-?)
performance
You are so hot is a research and performance I started after moving to Berlin. From a foreign perspective, germany is freaking scary. Because its culture is extremely technical, most of the time it's amazing how well things work. But when something goes wrong, all it takes is a grain of sand for the machine to spiral out of control, unstoppable. This is when true madness reveals itself, fractal delirium materialized swastika.
What I discovered there is an underground scene of liberal and socialist inclination, synthesis of the major ideological clash of the 20th century. Marvelous creatures dancing to empower themselves and defend their territory. At its core, a gay temple in decrepitude, cursed by private property and gentrification. An encrusted punk bourgeoisie devoured by consumerist hypnosis. A thin bohemian fringe of innocent beauty, in the corrupt megapolis of vice. Demogagy in politics, complacency and nepotism in the arts, on the genocidal backdrop of techno dystopia.
Berlin magic. A swamp turned symbolic mountain makes a wild panorama. On this summit I made up this play, with an extraordinary cast of crazy luminous people: to dance class and state violence in the gatekept bourgeois entre soi. The feminist anger, working service while men hoard wealth. The crack epidemy, homeless addicts fading on the sidewalk. Black paperless dealers harrassed by the police. Queer refugees losing their mind without a future. Neo-nazi marches in historic left-wing bastions. Capitalist decay in the US soft power embassy, at the heart of the old continent.
Ritual. Every sunday, Astrée dances freedom in the symbolic theater of western civilization, in the left eye of the imperial cyclone, where miracles are real. A journey of becoming, techno goddess and gay prophet. To build a narrative while studying this ecosystem, delirium, proto-fascism and the will to power of the male ego. This is TRASHQUEEN, cleaning the dancefloor, saving the world with poetry. More than a myth. A legend.
